Be a host family
Each day many animals are euthanised in Spain and there is not much we can do about it.
El Hogar de Luci has only a limited capacity, so we cannot rescue more animals then those who already live with us. Therefore we are always looking for host families who can take care of further animals in need.
Being a host family means taking care of an animal in need temporarily, while passing a quarantine, while curing from injuries, or just until we find a permanent home for the animal. We will manage the adoption and in the meanwhile we will pay for the veterinary expenses, food and transport costs.
If you decide to be a host family you will be a very special volunteer for the El Hogar de Luci: what greater gift can you make to a homeless animal than to give him or her the opportunity to life in a safe and comfortable home until his or her new family is found? Once the animal is given into its permanent home you will be sad, of course, but try not be too upset, because there is always another waiting for a safe home.
Helping us as a host family is also an act of responsibility; we encourage you to only take care of those animals that your living conditions, your time and your experience allow you to host. And of course, you will be supported and supervised by one of our experts, who you can contact at any time and who will solve any problems that may occur.
